The Cottage Woman
The other side is no less real, just because we cannot see it.
“The Cottage Woman certainly cemented for me the knowledge that there are spiritual guides and they are available to each of us. I also applaud the author for the guts it took to put such a story out there. The storyline just kept building and I was very sorry when the book ended.”JT
“The Cottage Woman was a gripping read about the author’s journey as she discovers a much larger reality, firsthand. The book was hard to put down. It is a manual for life. I can’t wait till I get the book in my hands and start underlining.” JC

About the book
The Cottage Woman is a human story, a daring, and true story. This ancient, spirit woman invites the reader to take an unusual and beautifully empowering adventure. New freedoms await. She invites them to see further, to climb the mountain higher. Like a telescope that sees into the heavens, just when they thought they had seen it all the lenses updated, she replaced the old with the new and they were asked to go further. She stretches them beyond their limits, their one-dimensional knowing to discover physical reality is not the total reality. A bigger story exists under and beyond us.
The book recounts how the author and a small group of friends unexpectedly encountered an ancient, spirit woman who visited them in a cottage on the sea coast of the North Atlantic. Their adventure started in the 1980s, and a special friendship developed. Over five years, this ancient woman, whom they called the cottage woman, became a guide, a therapist, and a friend. She helped the group navigate relationships, health crises, and coming-of-age moments – personal and spiritual.
She life-coached them by an old woodstove, and showed them that “Miracles are merely undiscovered realities.” At the same time, she introduced them to a multi-dimensional reality: her life on the other side, which she explained “is very much like your own“, spirit guides, yet she did not consider herself one, and death, as she informed them “is not the word we use.“
On her first visit, the cottage woman said, she came to teach love and was indeed a woman of her word. She also introduced them to different streams of consciousness that permeated their ordinary lives. She taught them how to access a love place, a wisdom place that was much larger than any of them had known. She told them about the invisible and they tested it. It became their personal experience as her reality walked with them in the ordinary events of their day. And, as she wisely counseled, “Just because you can’t see oxygen, it doesn’t mean it isn’t there.”
And those who visited were stretched, awakened, and left wanting more. These were uncharted waters. She was talking soul and we listened. It was not so much what she said but that she was sitting there in front of us to say it. When meeting enlightened beings, one is left different.
This book relates one of the most important, and most unusual adventures in my long life. The growing friendship with this ancient woman changed me and those who met her and has taken me over three decades to gather the courage to make it public.
About the conversation
The Cottage Woman found its way to a book club in the city by word of mouth. The organizer, who arranged the event, asked to meet me. Arriving one Sunday afternoon with book in hand, I noted a roll of yellow markers sticking out of its side.
She was delightful. We had a good chat. There were about a dozen people interested, and a two-hour event, done on Zoom.
Then she noted with interest the painting on the front cover. She was surprised I was the artist. I asked if she would like to see the original on the wall in the den. She pondered the painting and then noted what she saw in the cottage woman’s eyes, then she commented on her hands. From her comments, I knew she had caught the spirit of this awesome, ancient friend that changed my world and the world of those who meet her.
In addition, I am working on this book’s sequel titled Imprint ~ Of The Cottage Woman.

Why do I wish to connect to the other world and have for years?
What you are seeking is seeking you, caring, and loving you. It’s in the feeling, the unseen, the inner voice, and even in the happenstance that easily gets ignored. It goes by many names, essence, your larger self, God, guides, Presence, your own and others… You already feel what you are seeking. Feeling is crucial or you would have given up long ago. Don’t, it is all there, waiting for you.
