About the book
What are the how to's of living well with joyful purpose? What sparks our spirituality?
We each have our own bank accounts of vast wealth. Too often, we do not make the withdrawal, and a million ordinary, routine moments go unmined. What are the How to’s of living well? What sparks our spirituality? What triggers joyful purpose?
This book is about the moments in our lives when we make the withdrawal. Each writing in this “mind, body, spirit” collection considers a sacredness, that is just beneath the ordinary, the routine, and the habit. These see-through moments in our routine days, allow a healing awareness that offers wisdom, makes love, and creates a reality that points beyond our surface selves.
When we listen, life is speaking constantly, profoundly, and intelligently in its every detail. Becoming aware, and feeling beyond the coffee cup, tree, or the morning light develops a new set of lenses transforming routine, and habit into joy-filled meaning. These moments wink at us, begging us to open our hearts and dare us to respond in kind. And when we do, we discover a moment full of love, a feast of insight, and a new consciousness for the neighbor, and the pansy. As Charlie Murphy’s lyrics, remind us, in this global village of ours, “It’s going to take a fierce love to get us home before the sun goes down.”
About the conversation
Yesterday, someone told me that an older friend of hers, when he heard we were meeting for lunch, asked her to give me a message. He wanted to tell me how meaningful the book Moments That Blink Back is to him. He told her that one of the writings, in particular, had affected him deeply this past week. (Apparently, he had had a hard experience in his past and found one of the writings healing for him.) As he was showing her what reading it was, she noticed that he had a number of passages throughout the book highlighted with a yellow marker.

Why is the Moment so important?
When in a relationship with the Moment, something else appears that is more than me. It’s like a little wake-up call that has the opportunity to change us. Something grander does emerge, which does not have to be visible to be real.
